Leases for ninety-nine years and two or three lives for manors described as: Arlington, 1620-40(3), 1701-69(15); Churchstanton, 1627-99(16), 1741(1); Clayhidon, 1681-99(13); Madford, 1666-92(3); Rawridge, 1674-98(7); and Upottery, 1687-98(3).

 

The bundle for Arlington includes also three deeds relating to miscellaneous properties, 1769-1811, and a draft registration roll of the estates of Giles Chichester of Arlington esq. (papist), 1717.

 

Lessors for certain of the manors:

 

Arlington. Amyas Chichester, 1620; John Chichester, 1632, 1640; Giles Chichester, 1701-17; and John Chichester, 1729-69; all of Arlington, esquires. Churchstanton. Sir Francis Popham of Littlecote, knight, 1627. [Remainder as for Somerset manors generally].
