Papers relating to the creation of a festschrift for Leeds on the occasion of his 75th birthday. The publication finally appeared in 1956 after Leeds' death in 1955 with the title 'Dark Age Britain. Studies presented to E.T. Leeds'. These papers show the development of the work from its earliest stages of suggestion to completion and includes correspondence between the editor, Donald Harden and the contributors together with drafts of the text and of the plates and figures to be used in the publication.
