The papers consist of notes made by Leeds on examples of the Saxon and Medieval period with particular examples of architecture found in both Britain and France.

Arrangement:

Leeds created a series of box files by archaeological period; these files are the contents of the box file Leeds called 'Late Saxon. Mediaeval'. He grouped together the notes he made and filed them in reused envelopes. This original filing system has been maintained in the arrangement of the papers. Some of the files have been annotated and added to by P.D.C. Brown.
