Description:

COVENANT between Richard Paris, of Castre, and John le Botiler, whereby the former quitclaims to the latter all actions, quarrels, etc. which he has with him in respect of an acre and a half of land which he holds from John for term of his life, and for which, as he alleges, he has produced a charter of enfeoffment; in return for which quitclaim John agrees to pay 20 shillings of silver on the dates herein specified for the payment of which he binds himself and his heirs subject to a penalty of 5sh. to the fabric of the chapel of the Blessed Virgin in Burgh Monastery, and a power for distraint on his goods by the bailiffs of the Abbot of Burgh.
