GRANT by William fil.Radulfi Paris to Cecily his sister, of a messuage in the vill of Castre, which his father held from Roger Cordel - also a rood of arable land which William fil.Thoroldi de Castre gave to the said William, lying on Sortfurlong to hold by tenure of three hens and a penny at Christmas, and finding a man for one day in the meadows, in food, one man at "Bedrepe and one ad Benam"; and one halfpenny to the altar of St Kyneburga of Castre on Easter Day. Witn. William fil.Thorold; William Cordel; Robert de Buvetun; Reginald de Haliwelle; Godwin le Tailure; etc. Seal. Note: "Bedrepe" means Harvest work and "ad Benam" perhaps means ploughing work |
