EXTRACT from the Please at Westminster in presence of William Babyngton and his fellow Justices of King's Bench in Trinity Term 1 Hen.VI. [1423] viz Record of a suit at Northampton brought by John Waryn and Joan his wife against William Hunt, of Castre, yeoman, Robert Hunt, late of Castre, labourer, and John Hunt, late of the same, labourer, for trespass, viz: that on Sund. after the F.of St. Oswald [9 Aug.] 10 Hen.V. [1422] they, with force and arms, to wit swords, sticks, bows and arrows, made an assault on the said Joan at Castre, beating wounding and illtreating her, etc., to the damage of £20. The defendants pleading not guilty, all parties are ordered to appear on the 15th day after Michaelmas. At the Justices' court in Hilary Term 3 Hen.VI. [1425] the case is respited to the Northampton Assizes at Easter, and as no one appeared it is ordered to seize their bodies. |
