These papers were created in the course of a project undertaken by Joan Lane to compile a register of archives held by engineering and motor industry companies in and around Coventry. The project was initiated by Dr Kenneth Richardson, Senior Lecturer in Social and Economic History at the Lanchester Polytechnic and was funded by the Social Science Research Council. A copy of the Register issued in 1977 is held in the Record Office Search Room library (class no 016.338).
