Description:

Whereby firstly, in consideration of the rent and covenants, John Ernest Neale (of 182, Humber Ave., Coventry, haulage contractor) lets to the Rover Company Ltd. (of Meteor Works, Garfield Rd., Coventry) a stable and premises at the back of 17-25, Chapel St., Coventry (occupied by Messrs. Clarke Cluley & Co. Ltd.) from 29th. Sept., 1919 for 4½ years (to 25th. Mar., 1924) paying £25 quarterly; secondly, the lessees covenant that they will (a) pay the rent and usual taxes, and (b) maintain the interiors; thirdly, re-entry would be made if the rent is 21days behindhand; fourthly, the lessor covenants (a) to maintain the exterior, (b) to allow the lessees to occupy the premises durante bene placito; and fifthly, from 29th. Sept., 1919 a 10th. Aug., 1917 lease (made between G. W. Hawkins (Neale's predecessor in title) of the first, and Harry Smith (Rovers' agent) of the second, part, whereby Smith was tenant of the lessor's adjoining property) shall be considered to have been cancelled.
