Title: Lease and Release.
Description:

Whereby, having recited:- firstly, W. Peart's devising (by his will, dated 15th June, 1808) all his messuages in Coventry County to his executors, allowing a life annuity to his brother Joshua (in 1823 of Bromsgrove, Worcs., gent.), with subsequent sale; secondly, W. Peart's death, and the proof of the will at Lichfield on 11th. Oct., 1811; thirdly, an Act (1812/13) for turnpiking Fleet and Spon Sts. which empowered trustees thereunder-appointed to purchase any piece of ground smaller than 1r. if its owner was willing; fourthly, the necessity of purchasing some of the lands hereafter described for road-improvement: therefore, in consideration of £450 (paid to Henry Butterworth (of Coventry, timber-merchant) and Richard Richardson (of Coventry, watch-maker), devisces of W. Peart late of Coventry, gent., by Nathaniel Merridew (of Coventry, esq.), James Beck (of Coventry, esq.) Thomas Cope (of Coventry, silkman), and others, turnpike trustees), and of 5/- paid to J. Peart by the trustees, the devisees and J. Peart convey to Merridew et al the premises described in PA 353/1/3 (divided into three tenements) between Basnett's messuage on the west (described as in PA 353/1/14) and Gilbert's on the east (now occupied by George Dafforn et al). Endorsed with the several consents (24th. June, 1823 to 21st. Mar., 1826) of Joshua Peart Harvey (of Bromsgrove, farmer) William Wordell (of Upton Warren, Worcs., farmer), Frances his wife (née Harvey), Benjamin Harvey (of London, baker), Martin Wright (of Leicester, woolsorter), Ann his wife (née Harvey) and Martha Harvey (of Bromsgrove, spinster), children of Mary Harvey, deceased, to the transaction, necessary because (under W. Peart's will) they are entitled to the purchase-money.
