Immediate source of acquisition:

The bulk of the records listed below was received in one deposit made by the Area Administrator, Liverpool Area Health Authority (Teaching), 80 Rodney Street, Liverpool L1 9AP, in April 1978. Some records of the Liverpool Hospital for Consumption and Diseases of the Chest and of the Liverpool Stanley Hospital had been preserved at the Royal Southern Hospital and so formed part of this deposit.

Acc. 2146. General minute books, 1881 - 1928 (see 614 SOU 25/2 - 25/7 below) were purchased from the Social Services Bookshop, London by the John Gilpin Trust in August 1969 and were then donated to Liverpool City Libraries by the Trust. It is not known how these volumes came to be in the stock of the Bookshop.

Acc. 3020. Correspondence files, regulations and reports etc., 1947 - 1965 (see 614 SOU 36 below) were deposited by the Liverpool Area Health Authority (Teaching) in May 1977.
