Document and 4 plans relating to Princes Park. The plans are kept with the department's collection of maps and plans.

 

Document endorsed 'Proposals for terraces of 12 houses and 18 houses in Princes Park: with rights to the tenants, as well as the owners, to use the Park Garden in payment of a rent'. Comprises a letter dated 11 Feb. 1843, signed by Richard V. Yates; and a printed advertisement inviting applicants for building, investing in or renting houses in Princes Park.

 

The plans are (1) Pennethorne and Paxton; endorsed 'Princes Park 1842 to 1852, marked which part to be kept till 1916 or 1917 as it is, and then to revert to the heirs of R.V. Yates; signed: I.A. Yates.

 

(2) 1844 Plan by Pennethorne and Paxton.

 

(3) 1857 plan by Geo. Williams.

 

(4) 1857 plan coloured to show land conveyed by Mr. Yates' trustees; land still unsold and land contracted to be sold but not paid for; land subject to the term of 75 years then reverting to the estate in 1918.
