Administrative / biographical background:

Most of the sermons were preached at St. Augustine and St. Faith, London, where Fleetwood was rector, and at St. Dunstan-in-the-West, where he was lecturer, between 1692 and 1699, but some were also delivered at Kensington Palace, Eton College, Ely House, Wexham, and elsewhere.
