Port Royal version of the New Testament: Le Nouveau Testament de nostre Seigneur Jesus Christ, traduit en François selon l'edition Vulgate, avec les differences du Grec, Mons, 1667 (Darlow and Moule 3756). Both volumes are extensively annotated in a neat uniform hand mainly with Latin quotations from patristic literature said in a note dated 1739 on the front flyleaves of volume one to be in the hand of Mère Angélique de St. Jean, Abbess of Port Royal des Champs (1624-84).

This copy was given by Mère Angélique to Claude Louise de Sainte Anastasie du Mesnil Courtiaux, last Prioress of Port Royal, and subsequently passed from her by successive gifts to M. Calon, a priest in the diocese of Paris, to Louis Fuet, 'avocat en Parlement', to Louis François de Soucanye, 'avocat en Parlement' (1739), to Jacques Joseph Texier, 'avocat en Parlement' (1755), to M. Sanson, to Jean Baptiste Laideguive (1796). It was subsequently purchased by H.W.G. Markheim 'in Paris at Monsieur Porquet's March 1894', and was sold at Sotheby's on 14 December 1931 (lot 246) as the property of Mrs. A. Nevill Ditmas, Springfield House, Chalford, Glos.
