The commission was the precursor of the Eastern Churches Committee appointed in 1919. The chairman was John Wordsworth, Bishop of Salisbury, until his death in 1911, when he was succeeded by Archbishop Robertson, Bishop of Exeter. The secretary was the Revd. Henry Julian White.
