Administrative / biographical background:

Formerly (until July 1963) named the Merseyside Baptist Union and (until May 1954), the Liverpool Baptist Union, the District covered churches throughout the county and also included Douglas, Isle of Man. (See e.g. roll of churches, May 1964: 286MBD/1/3.) The minute books also contain the AGM minutes, memoranda on constitutional and organisational matters, financial statements, service sheets, annual rally programmes, some press cuttings and other printed ephemera.
