Administrative history:
Emeritus Professor J D McGee d.28 February 1987 ref 1.C.Gazette was born at Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, in 1903. He held the chair of Applied Physics at Imperial College from 1954-71, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1966. In his retirement he was appointed a Senior Research Fellow in the Physics Department.
