N.d. c) From 6 New Street, Fetter Lane recalling Hume from holiday to take over while he (Shorter) goes to Iceland. 20 September 1918 d) From The Old Inn, Widdecombe in the Moor, Ashburton, Devon, on holiday (2 sheets). Also one small photograph of Shorter? and two bookplates one by Walter Crane, (1845-1915) artist, incorporating a verse from Omar Khayyam, the other with engraving of Samuel Johnson (1709-1784), lexicographer.
