Administrative / biographical background:

Rank, Hovis, McDougal was a large industrial concern, existing from the later nineteenth century, which possessed many mills throughout Britain and Northern Ireland. In the early twentieth century, Robinsons Mill, which was located at Deptford Bridge, became part of their flour milling empire. Robinsons Mill specialized in the manufacture of agricultural supplies, chiefly feedstuffs for animals.

 

Robinsons Benevolent Fund gave money to subscribing employees who were absent from work due to sickness or accident. Robinsons Institute was responsible for social and sporting activities.
