This series consists of correspondence written to the Diocesan Registrar along with some copies of the replies. The majority of the letters relate to records held in the registry and include requests concerning the whereabouts of particular documents, for example deeds or faculty papers; information from the records, for example details of church buildings, cemeteries and the sale of properties; letters returning documents to the registry. Many letters are written by archivists from the Greater London Record Office (now London Metropolitan Archives) and concern the retrieval of documents deposited at the office.
