Microfilm of his papers, notably diaries, letters to his parents and wife, maps, photographs, and official documents, relating to his service in the ranks and as an officer with the British and Indian Armies, October 1915 - June 1921, and January 1940 - September 1945, including: in the ranks of the RASC with the Graves Registration Commission, October 1915 - March 1917; training with Officer Cadet Battalions, May - September 1918; service with the Oxfordshire Light Infantry in Ireland and Constantinople, May-June 1919; as a subaltern with the 11th Rajputs at Kila Drosh, India, February 1920 - February 1921; with the 1st Battalion 94th Russell's Infantry in Mesopotamia, December 1920 - January 1921; with Graves Registration and Enquiries in France, February - May 1940, and North Africa, April - July 1943; with Eastern Command, Staff College, and the Hertfordshire Sub-Area, June 1940 - November 1942; with the School of Military Government, Virginia, USA, September 1943 - December 1943; and with the Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives Section of the Department of Civil Affairs, France and Germany, January 1944 - September 1945. Also included are printed copies of telegrams between Lord Kitchener and the Secretary of State for War, July 1901, and Special Army Education Examination Papers, April 1919 - October 1919; the War Diary of No 3 Unit Graves Registration and Enquiries, France, May 1940; and his undated ms note on Operation CROMWELL, the invasion alert.
