An extensive collection of ms letters, personal accounts and other papers covering 1914 - 1960 but relating mainly to his First World War service as an officer with the Lovat Scout Regiment in the United Kingdom on Home Defence (May - August 1915), at Gallipoli (September - December 1915), in Egypt (December 1915 - October 1916) and in Salonika (November 1916 - July 1918), together with a collection of General Orders, Regulations and Instructions to the Lovat Scout Regiment, November 1914 - June 1918; material relating to his proposal to write the history of the Lovat Scouts including letters, newspapers, reports, monthly returns of strength and distribution and lists of officers; notebooks containing his lecture notes, 1914 - 1945; printed material including Army training manuals, 1914 - 1941; and various maps, photographs and other documents.
