Description:

--Stating that they have made the burghers lay down their arms because they had heard that the Estates meant to make themselves masters of the town, and they did not inform his Lordship, as they were told that he had promised to give the States possession, wherefore they feared he would have held them back from giving themselves this protection. They will hold the town faithfully, but rather than restore the burghers their arms, they protest that they will die together. French.
