--I hope you have received the money before this. "The bookes afford not much newes this week, only Chancellor Lowden is put out of his place in Scotland, and the Hollander have quite broken with the Portugall and is preparing warr against him. The English Embassador[s] hath been much affronted there, both by the English cavaliers,* Dutch, and French belonging to the French Embassador."

 

Written below, and apparently addressed to Lord Willoughby :--

 

"Pray contrive to meet your brothers [Peregrine and Richard] in France, where you will have the trouble of my company." Dated April 3, 1650, but endorsed [correctly] as above.
