He verily thinketh that he left home in Easter term upon a Tuesday, lay at Godleming the first night, and the next morning being very foul weather, stayed there till near noon, by which time much company came to the Inn, of whom one Mr. Harry Pound of Hampshire came along with him to London and supped with him at the King's Head in Southwark, together with Mr. Thomas Lane of Fishburne and others whom he had never seen, and one or two gentlewomen, in Mr. Lane's chamber. Thinketh that one of the gentlewomen's names was Mrs. Middlemore. Signed as the preceding. [All these papers are endorsed by the Archbishop.] |
