--Directing him to call together Sir George St. Pole, Philip Tirwit, Anthony Ersby, William Pelham, William Watson, William Rigdon, and Gregory Wolmer, esquires, or such of them as he shall think meet, to enquire into certain complaints of inclosing common lands, &c., brought against the Earl of Lincoln by the inhabitants of Swayton, Tattersall and Totshal, the Earl being willing that they should "treat and compound" the matter. They are also to examine the enclosed confession of one William Mason, "containing matter of practice against the Earl." Nine signatures. |
