--Although no news can be expected from the country, he writes to assure Monsieur of his affection, and of his regret that an attack of the fever now so prevalent in those parts has prevented him from offering his duty in person. Prays that his humble service may be offered to the Visconte Turaine, together with his regrets that his health will not allow him to make the acquaintance of one so renowned for his virtues, the worthy servant of such a king and master.
