--Letters of credence for Noel Caron, Lord of Schoonwaele, formerly burgomaster of Frant in Flanders, who is appointed to inform the above mentioned gentlemen of the negotiations with England concerning the restoration of the true, reformed religion in the provinces of Brabant, Flanders, Artois, Haynaut, Tournay, Lille, Frize and other adjacent parts, together with the restoration of their possessions to the refugees, upon the retreat of the Spaniards ; and who is also to enquire whether, with part of what remains to them, the said refugees are willing to assist in this matter, in which case his Lordship will be ready to employ his utmost means and his best friends in their behalf. |
