Title: | ODOARDO LANSAVEJA to LORD WILLOUGHBY. |
Description: |
--Although I am not a seigneur of title or rich, I am yet one of the chief nobles of my town, and worthy to receive an answer to my requests. I once more pray your Lordship to release my son, who, I assure you, has been only a private soldier; but if this should turn out otherwise, I give you my word as a gentleman that I will pay what is judged proper. I grieve for the poor soldiers in captivity, both yours and ours, and have already offered to exchange those I hold, if they will pay a month's wage and the expense of their keeping here, but nothing has been done. If you will free my son on these terms, I will give you the four last taken of your troop before Bergen. Signed. |
