Title: [LORD WYLLUGHBY to the COUNCIL OF STATE.]
Description:

--I have just received yours of Jan. 2, new style, and am sorry to hear that Capt. Blunt and Sherley's company object to march, for no one can more desire the furtherance of the service than myself, and I should ever be ready to risk my own life in the cause, "quoy que aulcuns ne veuillent interpreter bien de ma promptitude et bonne volonté que mes services precedentes ont merité."

As to their excuses on the ground of the debts of the companies, I can only say that the usual lendings ordered by her Majesty have been duly paid, although possibly, in consequence of the dearness of every thing and the little favour shown to our companies, these may not have sufficed for their entertainment. To pay them more is not in my power, but if you can arrange for the companies to be discharged of their debts, I promise that their creditors shall be satisfied by the first money which comes from her Majesty.
