Title: CHRISTOPHER REYNELL to LORD WILLOUGHBY at Dordrecht.
Description:

--According to his Lordship's orders to provide five hundred pairs of shoes and as many stockings, he has made all possible enquiries, by himself and his friends, but cannot find a dozen stockings to be bought and has no time to get them made. As to the shoes, his Lordship's letter only came to him late at night on Christmas Eve [N.S.], and he could not find 140 pair in all Midleborowe. Sir Edmond Uvedall had the most part of them and those remaining are too few to be of any use.

Sends his Lordship 200l. Begs acquittance for the same and a warrant for 10l., the price of the shoes delivered to Sir Edmond Uvedall. Seal of arms.
