Thanks him for money sent. His servant going to Mr. G. Blount the next day. 2nd Surrey regiment much disliked locally.

 

Draft letter of FFT to G.T.

 

Enclosing £25 to save him "the ineffable disgrace of parting with a servant without paying his wages". Severely rebukes him for spending £30 which he had already sent for the servant's wages. He (FFT) expects his son will soon have to leave the regiment.
