George F. Turvile, Dover Castle, to FFT, Bosworth Hall

 

Not allowed to sleep outside the Castle. Almost impossible to obtain leave of absence. Expecting an attack night and day. Navy not quite prepared. They have balls once a fortnight and plays every other night. A captain's duty not too hard - he had to ride along the beach all the previous night but will not have to do it again for three weeks.
