C. Browne Mostyn, Gloucester to FFT, Bosworth

 

Lady Mostyn upset because FFT did not ride over to see her when he was staying at Heythrop. C. B-M has made excuses for him. The French seem to have given up hope of "republicanizing' England and Ireland since their defeat by Nelson and Sir B[orlase] Warren. Has taken a Prebendary house rent free in Gloucester, having to give it up to its owner in April and May each year. Has settled into Gloucester society. Does not accept invitations to dinner as he cannot afford to return them. Son Charles spending his time between his books and his gun.
