Description:

John Potier, [Old Hall Green] Herts to FFT, Bosworth Hall

Is sorry that his conduct has caused him to remove his sons from the school. Justifies himself for being hard on Charles by saying that he did not do his work properly and that he practiced indecencies in word and deed, which he admitted were common in his former school. Mr. Potier acknowledges that it is bad that a boy of 6-7 should be whipped until he bleeds but chose that method of correcting a vice which would lead to the boy's downfall.
