Title: FAMILY PAPERS RELATING TO THE PAGET FAMILY OF HUMBERSTONE AND LUBENHAM HALL
Description:

The Pagets originated near Barwell and Ibstock. Though successful farmers, being associates of Robert Bakewell, the family began to prosper when Thomas Paget (1778-1862) turned to banking and politics. The family moved to Humberstone Hall and then to Lubenham, where they had acquired the manor in 1843. This deposit consists mainly of papers and letters relating to the members of the Paget family dated between 1830 and 1961 and is one of five deposits, which make up the collection.

Date: 1830-1961

Another of these (DE5770) is largely political. A larger deposit (DE365) consists mainly of deeds and estate papers for Ibstock, Humberstone and Lubenham, and is in addition to the deposit (DE1274), which is a collection of letters, autographs and ephemera of famous political and social figures. Finally, there is an unlisted collection (DE1783) which is not open to public access.
