The Leicester No. 3 Hospital Management Committee took over the records of the Leicester Lunatic Asylum and Mental Deficiency Committees and the Joint Leicestershire and Rutland Mental Deficiency Committee in 1948. Three hospitals were maintained by the old authorities:- Towers Hospital, Glenfrith Hospital and Stretton Hall Hospital.
