Description:

This business developed out of a partnership formally entered into in 1876 between two brothers, Henry and Arthur Bennett, both brushmakers of Leicester. Between 1876 and 1964, when the business was finally sold to Joseph Johnson & Co. Ltd., (who had been taken over by Fenwicks Ltd., a short time before), the retail side of the business expanded to comprise all branches of hardware, travel goods, kitchen furniture and toys.
