Administrative / biographical background: |
The Institute of Municipal Treasurers and Accountants (IMTA) was founded towards the end of the nineteenth century. It was organised in regions, and within the North West and North Wales region had two sections - the Students Society (founded 1903) and the Associates section. In 1974 the IMTA was reformed as the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA); the Student Society continued while the Associate section became the Regional body. In 1990 the organisation was changed again, to combine the two into the North West and North Wales Society of CIPFA. |
