Administrative / biographical background:

From 1945 a society was meeting in the Carpenders Park area of Watford. Services and a Sunday School were held in a variety of locations including a Junior School for a short time. A site for a church in Prestwick Road was purchased from the London County Council in 1951 and the new building opened in 1953.
