Administrative / biographical background:

This church was opened in 1940 and formed part of the Watford No.1 circuit. It was closed in 1955 but the building continued to be used as a Youth Centre. Under the aegis of the Hemel Hempstead Circuit (see NM3) it was renovated in 1961 and once more used for worship. A temporary wooden building was added a year later for use as a Sunday School. This was replaced in 1979 by a more permanent structure. The church was registered for the solemnization of marriages in October 1963.
