Description:

The collection relates to the estates gathered in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries by the Baldwin and Finch families. These were mainly in Watford and Rickmansworth, with outlying properties in Middlesex and Berkshire, notably Ockwells manor at Bray. The Baldwin family settled at Red Heath towards the end of the seventeenth century, and the Finch family took possession from them and remained there for the next two hundred years. Besides title deeds there are a large number of family wills and settlements, and a few miscellaneous personal papers
