Administrative / biographical background:

The Gloucestershire parishes in Keynsham Union formed a separate Union for purposes of out-relief and consequently were a separate district within the area controlled by Keynsham Rural Sanitary Authority from 1872. In 1895 these parishes were formed into the Warmley Rural District, transferred to Avon in 1974.
