According to Kelly's Directories of Essex , 1878-1937, the Orsett Petty Sessional Division comprised the following parishes for this period: Aveley, Bulphan, Chadwell St. Mary, Corringham, Fobbing, Grays Thurrock, Horndon-on-the-Hill, Laindon Hills, Mucking, North Ockendon, South Ockendon, Orsett, Stanford-le-Hope, Stifford, West Thurrock, Little Thurrock, East Tilbury and West Tilbury. Rainham and Wennington, which were originally part of the Brentwood Division, were transfered to the Orsett Division at some time between 1882 and 1886.

 

In 1935 Hornchurch U.D.C. was expanded to include Rainham, Wennington and part of North Ockendon and these parishes were subsequently transferred to the Romford Division (P/Ro)
