On 28 June 1905 the Essex Court of Quarter Sessions ordered that a new Petty Sessional Division to be called the Halstead Division be constituted, consisiting of the parishes of Alphamstone, Bures Hamlet, Earls Colne, Colne Engaine, White Colne, Gosfield, Halstead (Urban), Halstead (Rural), Great Henny, Little Henny, Lamarsh, Little Maplestead, Middleton, Pebmarsh, Twinstead and Wickham St.Paul's (which lately formed Halstead Bench of the Petty Sessional Division of South Hinckford),with effect from 1 September 1905 [Q/SO 57 pp.645-646].

 

The new division continued to use some of the records of the bench which it replaced eg. minute books
