According to Kelly's Directories of Essex , 1878-1937, the Epping Petty Sessional Division comprised the following parishes for this period:

 

Buckhurst Hill, Chigwell, Chingford, Epping, Loughton, Nazeing, North Weald Bassett, Theydon Bois, Theydon Garnon, Theydon Mount and Waltham Holy Cross. The parish of Lambourne is listed as part of the Epping Division from 1895, having previously been listed as part of the Ongar Division for 1878-1890. [P/O] On 1st January 1952 the Waltham Abbey Petty Sessional Division was created, comprising the Borough of Chingford and the Urban District of Waltham Holy Cross, both of which had formerly been part of the Epping Division [see P/Wa]. Under the Petty Sessional Divisions (Essex) Order, 1966, which came into effect on Ist October 1966, the Petty Sessional Divisions of Epping and Waltham Abbey were once more combined into the Epping Division [see Q/SO 67]

 

On 1st January 1968 the new Epping and Ongar Petty Sessional Division was created [see P/En].
