Mr E Beasant took over the ownership and running of the grocery business of 29 Bennett Road, Bournemouth from Mr G Newell in 1949. Mrs Beasant operated a bed and breakfast accommodation service as a sideline to the grocery business. On his retirement in 1971 his son, Mr J K Beasant, decided not to continue the business and it was therefore sold to Mr and Mrs B E P Sherwood
