Augustus Granville Stapleton (1800-1880), son of John Parker, 1st Earl of Morley (1772-1840), was private secretary to and biographer of George Canning (1770-1827), the statesman. He married Catherine, the daughter of John Bulteel, of Fleet, in the parish of Ermington, and Elizabeth, nee Perring, at Holbeton, on 30 June 1825
