At court of Beaurep [Belper] held at Duffeld Thursday 18 October 7 Henry VIII, surrender by Thomas Sowter of messuage with one acre of land at will, close called Shotilriddyng and Waterryddyng, 11 acres land, Barbo' close and one rood of land in Beaurep' to the use of Richard Souter and Alice Gregorye and the legitimate heirs of their bodies; one proclamation was made without claim ('sine reclam'); at court held at Ashelehey Thursday 8 November, a second proclamation was made without claim, and at court held at Duffield Thursday 29 November upon a third proclamation without claim, Richard and Alice were admitted to the messuage and lands to hold to them and the legitimate heirs of their bodies.
