Appeal of St Michael Penkivel against order of 28 Dec. 1789 for the removal of Jenefer Pill and children, William (8), James (5) and Harriot (1) from Kea to St Michael Penkivel: continued to next sessions.

 

James Bamfield, master of the ship William and Mary, swore that, on 25 Sept. 1789, he shipped at Liverpool 1,200 bushels of large grain salt, the property of John Wedge of St Ives, for fish curing; on the voyage to St Ives, a violent gale sank the ship. The loss of the ship and salt was not due to leakage or neglect of the crew.

John Brock of Stratton, mason; convicted for taking 5 sticks of wood, the property of William Sweet, value 2d.: one month's hard labour.

 

Richard Congden of St Allen, labourer; convicted for taking 2 stone jars and 2 earthen jars, the property of John Pearce, value 2d.: one month's hard labour.

 

Walter Noy, late of St Just in Penwith, labourer; convicted for taking one Dowlas [a coarse kind of linen] shirt and other articles, the property of Stephen Row, value 10d.: to be transported for 7 years to New South Wales or one of the islands adjacent.
