Thomas Matthews, master, and Charles Polgrean, mariner, of the sloop Fowey, swore that, on 21 Dec. 1787, they shipped at Bristol 21 tons of white salt, the property of James Bower and others, duty paid. On the voyage to the port of Fowey, they met with a violent gale and the ship sprung a leak, causing the loss of 3 tons 4 cwt. of salt, not through any leakage of the vessel or neglect of the crew.

Appeal of John Williams, Henry Williams and others living in Gwennap, against a rate made for the relief of the poor on 9 Apr. 1788 by Joseph Beauchamp, esq. and George Symmons, sen., churchwardens, and George Symmons, jun., John Gray, William Skewes, Michael Allen and William Odgers, Overseers of the Poor: rate quashed; Gwennap to pay the appellants £1 6. 8d. costs.

 

Appeal of Thomas Warren, gent., against the last poor rate made for Mylor on 25 April 1788: lodged and continued to next sessions.
